Mark Stavely
Mark was born and raised in Nashville, Ark., where he attended Nashville High School and participated in numerous sports. Mark excelled both in the classroom and on the football field and, following his graduation in 1998, played for the University of Arkansas under coach Houston Nutt. Mark received numerous accolades as a Razorback, including multiple Southeastern Conference academic awards.
While Mark cherishes his football memories, he is most proud of the impact he made on the lives of children through his involvement with organizations such as Arkansas Athletes Outreach, EAS Champions of Character, The Brandon Burlsworth Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and Arkansas Children's Hospital. Since graduating in 2003, Mark has continued working to impact the lives of young student-athletes through in-school and after-school sports programs.
"When talking with an athletic administrator, a coach or student-athlete, there are always opportunities to learn from them and offer help. I have the opportunity to wake up each morning and provide help to athletic programs and their student-athletes across the United States. I often times forget I'm even working because I'm having so much fun doing it. While the home and church go a long way in influencing a child, sports provide an equally valuable opportunity to learn about life and I’m so grateful to be a part of that."
A role model of his once said, "Whatever you do in life, give it your best, and do it with class because class never runs scared. It's sure-footed and confident. It can handle whatever comes along."
